COURSE
DURATION
The course nominally lasts for 8 days. It is broken up into 3 days of
groundschool followed by 5 days of simulator work. The day of the week for
the start of a course is variable and driven by your requirements. We
usually work through the weekend, however this can again be driven by your
requirements.

The
course is run on a flexible basis. We are current airline pilots so we
only aim to conduct a one course per month. The dates of these courses are
flexible to the students needs. If we have no booking for a particular
month, then we will be happy to accommodate specific dates as requested by
yourself.
If you
live and work near LHR and are unable to commit to a full 8 days away from
work, we are also able to run groundschool over a long weekend and the
simulator phase during the evenings.
COURSE
PRICE
We usually conduct one course per month. Course dates are flexible and arranged to suit our students needs. If you have a particular requirement for a course date and it doesn't feature on the page giving course dates, enter it on the application form and we will endeavour to arrange a course for your preferred dates. The
TOTAL
(inc VAT) price is
£3700
(Please
note that due to increased bank charges, Credit Card Bookings will
attract a 1.0% surcharge to this price). If you are unable to find a training partner, we will do our best to arrange one for you by pairing you with a prospective trainee in the same position and arranging a course date that is mutually convenient. If this is the case, we would need you to let us know what dates you are available to attend a course along with any specific restrictions on dates. As soon as we have a similar enquiry (they are frequent) we can arrange a date for you both.

COURSE
DESCRIPTION
The CAA/JAR requirement is for a course that teaches individuals the
skills required to safely operate a multi-crew aircraft. The Jetlinx
syllabus is written around these requirements. Jetlinx is fully CAA/JAR
approved.
In addition to the minimum requirements, we have added a great deal of
extra tuition in many of the other aspects of Jet airliner operation. The
course is conducted in the simulator around a virtual airline. The flying
is conducted in accordance with an operations manual and a set of SOPs. We
utilise Computer Flight Plans, Loadsheets and Minimum Equipment Lists in
addition to the operations manual. This integration of the course will
provide you with a head start for job interview, sim assessment and the
conversion course itself following your employment. Since our simulator is
a jet, we provide additional instruction in flying techniques for a heavy
jet aircraft.

The
use of a glass cockpit training environment enhances the training by
emphasising the requirements for crosschecking of AFDS *
modes. Just as in real airline operations, this aspect is covered by
SOPs and details of standard communications on the flight deck. This is
covered in great depth throughout the simulator phase and groundschool
since it is one of the fundamental Multi-crew principles and will apply
throughout your entire airline career. Although the course is
non-technical, this will give the trainee experience of modern AFDS
and FCU modes, interactions with navigation systems and the cross-checks
required by MCC principles. Cheaper courses
with other providers conducted on older or smaller aircraft simulators are
not able to provide this type of training.
With Jetlinx you will leave with more than
just a course completion certificate.
